Overview
Govorilka ("the App") is a voice-to-text transcription application for macOS and iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our app works with your data.
Key Privacy Points: Govorilka is open-source, stores all settings locally on your device, and does not collect or transmit any personal data to our servers. Audio is processed by Deepgram's API only during active recording sessions.
Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data. Govorilka does not have its own servers or databases. The app runs entirely on your device.
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Your Deepgram API key (stored securely in UserDefaults)
- App settings and preferences
- Transcription history (optional, stored locally)
- Screenshots (Pro mode only, saved to a folder you specify)
Audio Processing
When you activate voice recording:
- Audio is captured from your microphone
- Audio is streamed directly to Deepgram's API via secure WebSocket connection
- Deepgram processes the audio and returns transcribed text
- Audio is not stored on your device or our servers

Third-Party Services
Govorilka uses the following third-party services:
- Deepgram API — for speech-to-text transcription. You provide your own API key.
The website (govorilka.app) uses analytics services (Google Analytics, Yandex Metrika) to understand traffic. The app itself does not include any analytics or tracking.
Permissions
The app requests the following permissions:
- Microphone (required) — to capture audio for transcription
- Accessibility (optional, macOS) — to automatically paste transcribed text
- Screen Recording (optional, macOS) — for Pro mode screenshot feature
All permissions are used solely for the app's core functionality and can be revoked at any time in System Settings.
Data Security
- Your Deepgram API key is stored locally on your device
- All communication with Deepgram uses encrypted WebSocket connections (wss://)
- No data is transmitted to our servers
- The app is open-source — you can review the code on GitHub
Children's Privacy
Govorilka is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
